(EAST HAVEN) — Last week, the East Haven Republican Town Committee (RTC) released their list of endorsed candidates for the upcoming 2023 municipal election. RTC Chair, Stacy Gravino, led the Republican Convention at the East Haven Senior Center which involved nominating candidates for Mayor, Town Clerk, Town Council, Board of Education, and Board of Finance.
During the convention, committee members are granted permission to nominate candidates and second nominations with three-to-five-minute speeches. Tuesday’s RTC Convention resulted in a unanimous endorsement of a total of twenty-seven candidates, the most significant being Sam Parlato, for Mayor of East Haven.
“I want to thank all of the RTC members, friends, and family who came out to support me today,” said Parlato, following her endorsement. “I am proud to represent a dedicated group of residents who seek to extend their experience, skills, and commitment to service by running for elected positions in East Haven. I believe in putting people before politics; and seeing the unity expressed today reinforces my desire to further unite our great town beyond political beliefs, but as one collaborative community.”
Stacy Gravino said, “It’s a pleasure to see our RTC working together to promote better policies for East Haven. Our community is growing, and more residents have shared their concerns on issues of affordability, quality in education, and public safety. I am confident in Sam Parlato, and all of our endorsed candidates, to bring time-honored values back to Town Hall and assure that all community members will have a voice in East Haven.”
